TryHair Wig Try-On lets Shopify merchants offer AI-powered wig previews. Shopper photos and generated results are processed only to provide the requested preview and are not stored in our databases or object storage.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy describes how TryHair.ai (“TryHair,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) processes information through the TryHair Wig Try-On app, merchant dashboard, storefront widget, and related support services (the “App”). It applies to Shopify merchants, their authorized users, and shoppers who use the virtual try-on widget.
This policy is separate from the privacy policy for TryHair.ai’s consumer hairstyle services.
2. Information we process
Merchant and Shopify store information
- Shop domain, Shopify app installation and authentication session information.
- Product identifiers, product titles, product media needed to identify likely wig products, and each product’s Try On enabled status.
- App setup state, current Shopify App Pricing plan, billing-cycle dates, and usage-event totals.
- Support communications and technical diagnostic information you choose to provide.
The App requests only read_products and write_app_proxy. It does not request access to customer records, orders, checkout, refunds, or payment-card data.
Shopper information
- A shopper-selected front-facing photo and the wig product image currently being viewed, solely for validation and generation.
- The generated try-on result, solely for delivery back to the shopper’s browser.
- A random browser identifier stored in local storage and a one-way hashed auxiliary Shopify browser identifier, when available, to enforce the seven-day shopper limit and calculate anonymous visitor statistics.
- Attempt and success events, timestamps, store and product references, and limited device/network diagnostics required for security and reliability.
3. Why we process information
We process information to install and authenticate the App; identify and enable wig products; provide, secure, and troubleshoot virtual try-ons; apply merchant and shopper usage limits; report successful usage events to Shopify App Pricing; display aggregate usage analytics; respond to support requests; prevent abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Depending on location and context, processing is based on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, consent obtained by the merchant or shopper where required, and compliance with legal obligations. Merchants are responsible for providing any storefront notice and obtaining any consent required for their shoppers.
5. Service providers and international processing
We use service providers only as needed to operate the App, including Shopify for app installation and billing, Google Cloud for application hosting and operational data storage, and AI infrastructure providers for transient image processing. These providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate, subject to contractual and legal safeguards where required.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
- Photos and generated images are not retained by our application after the request is completed.
- Operational store configuration, pseudonymous usage records, and billing-related records are retained while needed to provide the App, maintain accurate billing and security records, and meet legal obligations.
- Uninstalling disables the App. Shopify normally sends a
shop/redactrequest 48 hours after uninstall; when received and verified, we delete the shop-scoped operational data held by the App, except information we must retain by law. - Customer privacy requests delivered through Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks are processed even though the App does not request protected Shopify customer data.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, short-lived scoped tokens, private service-to-service authentication, access controls, data minimization, and pseudonymous identifiers. No system is completely secure, but we maintain safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed.
8. Your choices and rights
Merchants can disable products, disable additional paid try-ons, change plans through Shopify, or uninstall the App. Shoppers can stop using the widget and clear the site’s local storage in their browser. Depending on applicable law, individuals may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. Requests may be made through the merchant or sent directly to us.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children. Merchants must not knowingly invite children to upload photos without the authorization required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App or applicable requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required.
